End Of Year Reflection!

Reflection

this year has been the best year of all my primary school years😏. This year I have learned to be able to work with anyone in the classroom.

An important decision I made was to join kapa haka 

because it made me feel very safe in the country I live in. A goal I accomplished this year was to join kapa haka because everyone doubted that I wouldn't look good in the uniforms,that I wouldn't  suit kapa haka and that I would look like an egg but this year I joined it  and it was heaps  of fun.

My favourite memory of this year wan meeting my friend Tanzee,Quinn and Eliani they are very funny and kind.The funniest thing that happened this year was at my birthday  when my teachers son was sleeping me and my friends drew a mono brown,lipstick,blush and 4 pack abs on him with lip stick

My Reflection

this term for Inquiry we have been making biospheres.

Our Inquiry topic was what would we do if earth was

uninhabitable? so we had to make biospheres for 300 

people to live in. We made our Biospheres from scratch 

we started by getting old milk boxes then painting them then we added all or props in and designed it. It was extremely fun took us a couple days but is was worth it in the end It was really fun why don't you try it if you do good luck!!!

I thing the hardest part of planing this was writing about

my character

the easiest part would be telling you what happens and 

writing about Yeats (the main character). we had to inference

to learn about William (My character).It was easy to write

about Yeats because he is talked about lots in the story.

This is my pirate ship the learning that we

did was learn about different shapes, nets 

and learning about how to use a protractor and

and how to measure. this was really fun I think the hardest

part was using the protractor to get the angles right but 

overall it was quite fun.

the last 5 weeks  we have had a student teacher in  our

 class her name is Miss Terry. My favourite thing about her was

the book she read to us the book was called Between two ends.

It is about a boy called Yeats that lots of weird stuff and happens to him.

 He has to  go into a book called the 1001 Arabian nights to rescue someone out of a book to make his father happy.

I also liked the inquiry she did with us we learnt about if earth was inhabitable where would could we go. after we learnt  about our planets in the solar system we did some paper mache planets after we finished paper mache planets we painted them. It was really fun.

we also made a mini bio-dome for inquiry where had build a bio-dome for three hundred people to live in we had to make bathrooms,kitchens,gardens etc  it took us a couple days to plan our bio-domes and to make them.

We have had a lot of fun with Miss Terry in our class I wish her the best for her teaching in the future.

Hi this week we have been really busy because the first week of term 3 so get ready to start reading.

So the first thing I want to share with you is something called bike skills. Bike skills is where a group of professional bikers come to or school and try to make us feel more confident riding bikes and for having fun.  This time we were riding mountain bikes with gears and for the children who don't no how to ride a bike they would go into separate group and learn how to be more confident riding a bike. The cool thing is that next week they might bring out little ramps and thing's like that.

The next thing I want to share with you is something called cross country. Cross country is where the year 4 5 6 go run a 1.2 kilometre running course it is really fun.

yesterday the netball team (witch I am in) vs a school called Wakaranga primary. Guess what we won the score was 17  20  and last year they bet us.

we also have been sending some messages to our Japanese students. For you guys who don't know who Japanese student's are they are student's that come all the way from japan just to stay at our school for one day and discover New Zealand.

This is the last thing I promise  we have been reading a book called the wrinkle in time.  while we have been reading the book we have been doing follow up activities  such as ven diagrams charter descriptions ect.

In the past couple of weeks Rm 20 have been doing some amazing things. This diary post will tell you what we have been up to.  One thing we have been doing is our agamographs, here I will show you a photo of one.

We also have been doing some self directed learning (SDL) SDL is when your teacher sends your tasks for the week to your google drive and you complete as many as you can on your computer and if you don't understand she will make a work shop somewhere in the week, where she can help you with your learning. Another thing we have been doing is terrific Tuesdays where we go out for 45 minutes on a Tuesday and do lots of different actives like science and Japanese and at the end we have a assembly and show what we have learnt.  It was really fun because I had a chance to practice Kapahaka for the regional competitions.

wal about value in art. - how light or dark something is. the first thing we had to do was take a line for a walk, where we drew light and dark patterns with pencil on a piece of paper. after that  we had to enlarge a picture on a grid paper. then we had take a picture of our selves and print it out and make a grid on the photo. After that we got a plain piece of paper with a grid on it.  We made a window with paper and used blue tack to stick it down on 1 of the squares of the grid on the photo. after that we took our plain piece of paper and started patterning  our face on it. For the lighter spaces we made a pattern far apart and for the darker spaces we made patterns close together. The person who inspired us to do this art was called Chuck Close. Chuck Close was born 1940 5 July. he was dyslexic and did poorly at school. his dad died when he was 11 and his mother developed breast cancer but still kept making art.  lots of his art was are portraits of faces

we are learning about mixed numbers and improper fractions. I found changing a improper fraction to a mixed number hardest and changing a mixed number to an in proper fraction really easy. Now I think my next step is to start adding fractions.

My Reflection

I was learning how to use persuasive techniques.

I had to make an Advertisement about what makes your holiday better using what appeals to parents.

We first got into groups of 2,3 or 4's and then planned out how the adds would turned out to be and what it's all about. Then we made a script to use when we were going to record and it took us a while to make it. Once our script was finished we decided to make our Advertisement using an animation website called powtoon Making the presentation was fun but when it came to recording it got really hard. It took us a really long time getting the recording perfect and at the end we got it all-right.

Through out this project we also checked out some adds made from people and we learnt some Persuasive techniques.

• SLOGAN: A catchy phrase to make your add more interesting
• REPETITION: You use a word over and over again
• TESTIMONIAL: A customer that tells comments about your work.
• BANDWAGON making people want to be a part of it and not missing out.
• EXPERT OPINION and experts point view
• EMOTIONAL APPEAL making the audience feel emotional  

the Technics we used were slogan and testimonial  we used happy children, happy holidays for our slogan we used team members in our group to be our testimonial (boy) maybe next time we could use more persuasive techniques because I think the add would be more persuasive

Diary Post week 10

Last week all the Year 6s  had an Easter egg hunt it was really fun the teachers gave us clues. the clues  helped us figure out where the 18 Easter eggs were at the end of the Easter egg hunt I felt great and fantastic because  I had some chocolate and chocolate makes me feel good.
